Art School Victoria offers painting, drawing and mixed media art classes for children and adults.
Students are encouraged to think and to find their own direction using the assignments as a guideline. The students explore their imagination and we as teachers help them to clarify their own ideas and to search among a variety of solutions.
Art is a means of expression that does not rely on verbal or decoding skills. Through art, we learn to value our own uniqueness and appreciate the individuality of others. Art is active experiential learning in a meaningful context.
Our teachers generally do 2 painting/drawing workshops a year in foreign countries. However, this year in 2013, we are only doing one in Italy.

The entire week is filled with adventure, fun and creativity. This will be the 5th year teaching back at Villatalla in beautiful Liguria, and we cannot wait! The villa is situated in the mountains, only 30 minutes from the Mediterranean sea. The closest town (at the bottom of the mountain from the villa) is Dolceacqua with it’s 12th century castle and bridge along the river. Monet fell in love with this town and spent much time painting the romantic bridge in all the varying degrees of sunlight. Liguria area is known as the Italian Riviera and is home to hundreds of charming medieval villages, many of which we will visit. The local cuisine is spectacular, the people wonderful, and the scenery is divine! Truly a memorable trip!
Please visit beautiful villatalla: http://www.villatalla.com/ for info and photos of the accommodation. The owners of Villatalla, Roger and Marina Hollingshead, are absolutely lovely!!
